Open Container Guidelines in Downtown Dallas' Entertainment District
Downtown Dallas has an official Entertainment District where you're allowed to enjoy alcoholic beverages outdoors—on the streets and sidewalks—within certain guidelines.

Here’s what you need to know:
-
You can carry and drink alcoholic beverages in the Entertainment District, but only in clear plastic cups provided by bars or restaurants licensed to serve alcohol
-
Current establishments include Vintage Wine Bar, Sal's Pizza, and Hopp Frogg Music
-
-
Each person is only allowed one drink at a time when taking it outside of the establishment.
-
All drinks must be 16 ounces or less—no oversized cups, cans, bottles, or glass containers are allowed.
-
You can’t bring your own alcohol or drink anything you didn’t purchase from a business inside the district with the proper license.
-
Drinking in the district is allowed during these times:
-
Monday through Saturday: 9 a.m. to midnight
-
Sunday: 12:30 p.m. to midnight
-
-
Drinking or carrying open containers of alcohol in your car—even while parked—is not allowed.
-
Businesses can also opt out by posting a sign saying “Outside Drinks Not Allowed.”

Make sure to stay within the boundaries of the Entertainment District (as shown on the official map) and enjoy responsibly!
